Learning Resources Science Kits & Toys LER2846 Editorial Review
The Learning Resources Botley the Coding Robot Classroom Set features a whopping 239 pieces, making it a comprehensive and engaging resource for teaching coding to young children. Designed to be used with kindergarteners and first graders, this robot has received positive feedback from both students and teachers. One reviewer mentioned that their students thoroughly enjoyed interacting with Botley and found the experience to be enjoyable and educational. The robot has successfully challenged a 9-year-old, proving its versatility in engaging children of different age groups. Moreover, another reviewer expressed satisfaction with using Botley as a teaching tool for all their students, highlighting its effectiveness in a classroom setting. However, there is one recurring complaint regarding the frequencies used by the robots in this set. All the robots operate on the same frequency, making it challenging to facilitate small group activities without staggering turns. This issue hinders the ability to fully utilize the set's potential and can result in impatience among students. Overall, the Learning Resources Botley the Coding Robot Classroom Set is a highly recommended resource for educators aiming to teach coding to young children. It provides an engaging and educational experience, capturing the interest of students across different age groups. However, improvements could be made to the frequency issue to enhance the overall experience.
