Action & Adventure Editorial Review

800 Bullets [DVD] is a quirky comedy directed by Alex de la Iglesia, featuring a young boy, Carlos, on a unique journey to find his grandfather, Julian, a former stuntman struggling to maintain a dilapidated western theme park in Spain. This film is an homage to Spaghetti Westerns, showcasing a nostalgic vibe that appeals to fans of the genre. The story is driven by the peculiar bond between Julian and Carlos, showcasing lighthearted comedic moments and eccentric characters. While the film has its share of flaws, such as occasionally feeling overlong and heavy-handed, standout performances, particularly from Sancho Gracia, help hold the narrative together.
