Renegade Game Studios Board Games RGS08433 Editorial Review
The Transformers RPG Core Rulebook has had mixed reviews. The book has been poorly assembled and has had trouble with the spine and cover not attaching. The game mechanics are complex, and the rules are at the back of the book while character details are at the front, leading readers to feel lost until the end of the book. The game itself is fun to play and has specific gameplay mechanics that will interest Transformers' fans. However, it is needlessly complicated, has too much detail that has little impact on gaming, and a lot of content repeats itself. It's also too long and could be 75% shorter. Many Transformers cannot translate directly into this system, and it is assumed that the reader knows the Transformers' background. Overall, the book has great artwork and is visually pleasing, with an official system that excites many Transformers fans who are eager to try it out.
