While it can hold an 8lb bottle battery, it is not recommended for use on rough trails or jumps/drops as the mount may twist or move. The bolts stay away from the frame without any additional protection. When used with a full water bottle, the mount can swivel around the seat tube and rub against the rider's leg. The adapter is made of plastic, rubber, a metal screw, and replaceable straps. The strap can handle wide forks, but they may slip and sticking to front forks is not recommended. The grips are rubber so the adapter is compatible with small forks on townie and commuter bikes.
