Chessmaster: Grandmaster Edition

**** The Chessmaster game for Nintendo DS has received mixed reviews from customers, highlighting both its strengths and weaknesses. Many customers appreciate that the game provides a decent introduction to chess, particularly through its mini-games and basic tutorials. These elements help users grasp fundamental chess concepts while offering quick, engaging challenges. Parents have noted that the mini-games can serve as a fun way for children to learn and practice chess, with some even reporting a noticeable improvement in their child's playing ability after engaging with the game. However, there are several critiques regarding the game’s depth and engagement. Some users feel that while the game is effective for beginners, it lacks the robust features and elaborate tutorials found in PC alternatives. The AI has been a point of contention as well; while it effectively challenges players, it may be discouraging for newer players who struggle to win matches. Furthermore, some have expressed disappointment in the absence of a detailed chess database and strong online competitive play, potentially due to the DS's limited capabilities. It also faces criticism for being relatively overpriced, especially Considering these limitations. It appears that while the game serves its purpose of introducing chess to newcomers and enabling casual play, it may not hold the attention of more experienced players or those looking for a comprehensive chess training tool. It can be a worthwhile purchase for dedicated beginners or parents introducing their children to chess, provided they approach it with the right expectations. **
